You are 3 months old today and I am not quite sure where the time has gone, or what happened to my baby boy. You have gotten so big and are changing and growing every day.
You are 15 lbs 3 ounces. I can't believe you've already doubled your birth weight!
You eat anywhere from 4-5 ounces every three to three and a half hours.
You typically wake up around 5 or 5:30 am to eat and then sleep til about 8 (which mommy loves!) You take a short nap in the morning and then two longer ones later in the afternoon.
You are wearing a size 2 diaper and some 0-3 months, but mostly 3-6 month clothes.
You are a great baby and like driving in the car, and are so good at church in the nursery
You were so funny when we were taking these pictures. You found the paper that I wrote the date on and started to put it in front of your face and pull it away like you were playing peek a boo. It cracked me up!
This month has been a little hard with you having some stomach issues and having to have another IV for tests to check on your kidney, but as always you've continued to have a smile on your face. We went to the doctor today and he thinks you have reflux. We started you on some Zantac and oatmeal cereal in your formula and we're hoping that it will help.
You have such a sweet personality and enjoy being around people (aka, you're nosy!). Papa calls you "newspaper" cause you always seem to be checking everything and everyone out to see what's going on.
You smile and talk so much. And look at me like I'm crazy. Ha!
Your third month started out with a special weekend alone with Grammy and Papa while mommy and daddy went out of town for a wedding. It seems like you all had a great time and I am so glad you got to spend some special time with them. I do think you wore them out though, cause this is what we found when we got home!
You've definitely "found" your hands this past month and usually you're sucking on one or both of them. It's so funny to hear you smacking on your fingers from the other room. Then there's the occasion where you stick your hands to far in your mouth and gag yourself. I must admit, it makes me laugh.
We tried to enjoy the last few days before daddy went back to work this month. That included a trip to the park, which you loved (although you slept on mommy for most of it) and walks in the new jogging stroller daddy bought you.
Here you are in your jogging stroller lookin' cool with your new sunglasses
You had your first taste of oatmeal cereal while your Papa was here visiting. That was quite the adventure! We did that trying to see if it would help your tummy, but it didn't really, so we stopped it.
You love to smile and are such a happy baby. One of your favorite things to do is play in your playpen with your toys. Especially "Fred". Fred is the octopus that hangs over the pack and play. He's one of your friends and you love to talk to him and kick and smile when you see him. I named him Fred 'cause it's a lot easier to say than octopus :)
You love your daddy so much. You and him are best buds and no one can make you smile or laugh the way he does. It warms my heart and I pray you will always love him and look up to him the way you do now. When he gets home from work you smile so big and start talking and getting excited.
You had to have more tests done to check on your kidney, which meant another IV and catheter :(
I was worried about it because you're a little bigger now and more aware of things. You screamed when they did your ultrasound, which is painless, because you didn't like being held down. After that I was really worried about the IV. But you just sucked on your paci and barely made a peep while they did that and put in the catheter. Before they were even done you were smiling and cooing at the nurses, You are definitely a flirt!
You have a new affinity for your hands and have them in your mouth almost all the time. Your beloved paci is now relegated to second place and you take it only when you're really upset, and then it's usually until you calm down. Then you spit it out and put your hands back in your mouth. Occasionally you put them in so far you gag yourself, which I must say, makes me laugh every time.
You havn't rolled over again since you did it last week. I think it scared you a little! We still have tummy time every day and now you're trying to roll onto your stomach from your back.
We've developed a nice bedtime routine and last night you slept 10 hours for the first time! I hope this continues...
We usually feed you around 8 and then you get a bath, which you still love. You just sit there and enjoy the water. After that we sit in the rocking chair and read a book or sing a song. It's my favorite part of the day. Then we put you in the crib and you put yourself to sleep (after playing with your hands in your mouth!). You do a great job at falling asleep on your own, which we are thankful for.
Here you are with daddy at bedtime
Sleeping so sweetly
Words cannot express how much joy I have in being your mother. You make me laugh all the time and your facial expressions are hilarious. I love getting you out of bed in the morning or after a nap and seeing your smiling, happy face. We pray for you daily and love you so much!
